What is a Minion?
The minions are cute, little yellow creatures from the "Despicable Me" movies. They wear blue overalls, goggles, and speak in a funny language. This language is called Minionese, which is a mix of different sounds. Even though we can't understand most of their words, we can always tell how they feel from their actions and expressions.
These small, mischievous cuties are always up to something. They love helping their boss, Gru, with his plans, even if they are evil. Of course, things always go wrong.
The minions have been around for a really long time. Over the years, they have served different villains. But now, they are best known for being the lovable helpers of Gru.
They are goofy and make people of all ages laugh with their playful and sometimes chaotic adventures. They have become so popular that they even got their own movie called "Minions" in 2015. This movie gives us a look at their history and previous villains they have worked with.

This is a free Minion crochet pattern, so I cannot complain. Working through the pattern, I came across parts of Stuart the Minion that I was unsure about. If I were to guess, I would say that the instructions might have been written in another language and then translated into English. Even though I had a few moments where I was like, "Huh?" I worked through it and tried to figure things out. Despite the confusing steps, Stuart ended up super cute!
If you are a fan of the Minions and Despicable Me, I think you will also like this Stuart the Minion crochet pattern.

Minion Stuart Free Amigurumi Crochet Pattern Details
As I previously mentioned, I think this Minion crochet pattern was a little confusing in places. However, I did whatever I thought I should do, and it worked out fine. To me, the hardest part of the pattern was sewing the hands together. They were so small, and the black yarn made the stitches hard to see.
To complete the Minion crochet pattern, you will need to know chain, slip stitch, single crochet, double crochet, half double crochet, increase, invisible decrease, treble invisible decrease, back loops only, and front loops only. The pattern is written in English using US crochet terms.
I am a very slow crocheter, so Minion Stuart took me a bit of time to make. And in the process, I broke my hook. Completed, my Stuart the Minion measures approx. 6" tall. Instead of using the super tiny crochet hook recommended by the designer, I used a 2.75 mm hook. I also used size 3 yarn.

As with most amigurumi crochet patterns, this garden gnome pattern starts off with a magic circle. If you have never created a magic circle before, they are fairly easy to learn with a bit of practice.
The pattern starts with the pill shaped body. Then you make all the other pieces. And there are quite a few. Then the pieces are all sewn together.
